I don't know how many times I've tried for this photograph. It's possible only a few days every year from my vantage besde the Catawba River near Rutherford College, 22 miles from Tablerock, and many of those days are too hazy to see the mountain or too cloudy to see the Sun. I flipped this around and turned it into a simulacrum of a spooky moonrise from Wiseman's View for "The Lights of Home" CD. It works pretty well "straight," as seen here, too.
