I photographed blues pianist Phil Stinson on stage at a Caldwell Country Traditional Musicians Showcase. Some months later, he asked me to work up a design for his solo CD, "They Call Me Mr. Lucky." Phil's on the cover, but this photo greets the listener opposite the CD. It's a digital confection compositing my black cat Maybelle and one of Phil's favorite pianos. The piano is in a popular local restaurant where shooting this in one take would get a lot of people in very hot water. Maybelle wouldn't have been very happy about it either.
