Charlie Downs, Safe at Third

Batting for the St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Eagles, Charlie Downs hit a triple. He arrived at third base in a cloud of red dust, but what earned him a spot on the back cover of "Good Old Boys Like Me" was the tobacco tin, almost but not quite hidden in his back pocket.
