Sunrise on Clavius

One of the largest craters on the side of the Moon facing Earth is Clavius, the scar of an ancient asteroid impact deep in the Moon's southern highlands. Smaller, younger craters mark the floor and rim. Clavius itself is 140 miles in diameter. It's lit here by early morning light, a couple of (Earth) days after lunar dawn.
