Yet Another Sunny Day

07/15/2024. Steady air makes it easy. Part Three. Remarkable heat but good seeing. Mid-90's by early afternoon, milky skies: the seeing was not so much "good" as "slow." 1.5ms exposures froze it nicely, and there was no high-frequency shimmer to compromise detail. Clouds slipped in while I was attending to some small areas, so I didn't do a full-disk mosaic today. All these began as approximately 1000x680 ROIs.

As usual, click anything for a closer look.

7/17/2024. The forecast looked bad for today, but the sky looked good. So when I went outside to fit the new-to-me 400mm F2.8 Nikkor on the tracking platform, I did some sungazing first:

one
Best 200 of 2,000 times two (top / bottom)

twp
Best 200 of 2,000. Possibly the last look at this humongous group.
