Sunrise from a Pueblo Bonito Sun Shrine
Adjacent one corner of Pueblo Bonito is a small stone crib. It may
be a shrine to the Sun, a Sun-watching station. The canyon wall as
seen from here offers a plethora of setbacks and notches. Did the
point at which the Sun cleared the canyon mark the passage of the
proto-Pueblan year? No one is saying. This photograph was made in
much the same way as the previous one but instead of placing the camera
to produce a spectacular image, I've used it to record sunrise from the
"mystery crib" beside Pueblo Bonito.
